Elemental Music Alumni Programs
Over 3,000 students have participated in Elemental Music since 2004. We love keeping in touch with our alumni. On this page, you will find exciting opportunities to stay connected with Elemental Music, even after you graduate from our ensembles. And of course, you can always drop us a line and let us know what you’re up to!
Solo Competition
Every year, we host a solo competition, offering eligible current and former students the opportunity to show off their chops and win a cash prize. There are two divisions to our solo competition.
Instrumentalists must perform on an orchestra or band instrument, guitar, or voice. Piano is not an accepted instrument in this competition.

High School Division
Open to high school juniors and seniors who are or have been previously enrolled in an Elemental Music program (including Encore/Bergmann Program).
First prize: $500
Second prize: $300
Third prize: $200
Middle School Division
Open to current 8th graders who are or have been previously enrolled in an Elemental Music program ((including Encore/Bergmann Program).
First prize: $250
Second prize: $150
Third prize: $100
Applicants must upload a video recording of a solo work of your choice to YouTube. The recording should not exceed 8 minutes in length.

Mentor program
Many of our alumni students love coming back as Mentors in our ensembles. Middle school students in our Mentor Program assist in rehearsals and play with our ensembles. High school students assist with one-on-one mentoring opportunities. Interested in mentoring?
