Emily call

Emily is the Marketing & Communications Director, Director of the Chamber Music Institute, a violin coach for Sinfonia, and a teacher for Encore/Bergmann Program. She previously directed Elemental Music's Prelude Program for 8 seasons. In addition to her work with Elemental Music, she also maintains an active private studio. Previously, Emily taught violin at the Crossroads School. She was also a Dream Strings coach for SMMUSD for nearly a decade.

Emily is a violinist dedicated to the performance of contemporary music, with a special interest in cultivating collaborative relationships with composers. An adventurous chamber musician, recent performances have led her to play the violin with two bows, experiment with scordatura, throw ping pong balls, place mini alligator clips on her strings, and play into a fan. As a founding member of the Isaura String Quartet, Emily has worked closely with composers including Kitty Brazelton, Gloria Coates, Carmina Escobar, Ulrich Krieger, and David Rosenboom.

Emily has performed with various groups across Los Angeles, including wild Up, the Dog Star Orchestra, Wordless Music, Now Hear Ensemble, Equal Sound, and Synchromy, where she was a featured soloist. She has performed on many popular LA concert series, including Monday Evening Concerts and the LA Philharmonic's Noon to Midnight new music marathon. Emily holds degrees from the California Institute of the Arts and Bennington College.
