Fang Fang Xu
Dr. Fang Fang Xu earned her Doctorate of Musical Arts in Cello Performance from the University of Southern California. She has toured in Germany, Holland and Mexico with eminent conductors Christoph Eschenbach and Mstislav Rostropovich. She has appeared as guest soloist with the Pacific Symphony and USC Thornton Symphony among others, and as an orchestral player she has performed with the LA Philharmonic and LA Chamber Orchestra. She made her Carnegie Hall debut in June of 2010, as solo cellist in the production of Eric Whitacre’s Paradise Lost. She was again featured in the production as soloist in performances in Chicago and at Disney Hall in Los Angeles. In 2017, Dr. Xu joined the Elixir Piano Trio and has been performing throughout Southern California.
In addition to her performing career, Dr. Xu has maintained a private studio in South Pasadena for over two decades, and served as the String Coordinator of the Music Teachers Association of California, Pasadena Branch. Her students have won numerous competitions and auditions in the Southern California region, many of whom have been accepted by prestigious music programs at universities nationwide.
Dr. Xu, currently a parent at Broadway Elementary, is excited to bring a rewarding musical experience to the school communities on the westside of Los Angeles.
