Juanita Devis
Mrs. Devis worked on her first film at the age of six and from that moment worked as an actor in Colombian television. A disciplined and versatile entrepreneuse, Mrs. Devis has channeled her passion for acting into many audiobooks, cartoons, and in dozens of commercials, plays, and TV shows in Los Angeles, as well as being a drama teacher. She has been a Spanish/English interpreter and translator for more than 24 years for companies like Certified Interpreters and UCLA. She has worked as a Bilingual Community Liaison for SMMUSD, and as a Family Circle Coordinator for The Broad Stage. She currently works at Harmony Project in Los Angeles as a Bilingual Family and Community Liaison, while also working for Elemental Music as a Bilingual Community Engagement Coordinator.
She studied Theater in London at Westminster College and The City Literary Institute, and at Howard Fine Acting Studio in Los Angeles. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cal State LA majoring in Communications, with an emphasis in Social Justice and a minor in Creative Writing.
Mrs. Devis is the great-granddaughter of a pianist, granddaughter of an accomplished soprano, wife of a violinist, and proud mother of a cellist and a violist who are Elemental Music alumni. With her typically enthusiastic spirit, she loves to help others play, discover and create music.
