Finn Bordal

An alum of Elemental Music (‘06-‘07), violinist Finn Bordal is excited to return as a teacher to a program that was central to his early development as a musician. After graduating from Santa Monica High School (‘14), where he served as concertmaster of Symphony Orchestra during a tour of Europe, Finn attended the Oberlin College and Conservatory, where he continued his violin studies under David Bowlin and received a degree in Hispanic Studies. These days, Finn enjoys a busy teaching schedule, which includes working with kids at SMMUSD Title 1 elementary and middle schools through the Dream Strings program, work with other local music nonprofits, and the instruction of the violin, viola, and piano students of his private studio. When he isn’t teaching, practicing, or performing, there’s a good chance that Finn is either out on a hike or training at a local climbing gym.
